Privacy Policy for the Quantitative User Experience Association and Quant UX Con


Introduction

This privacy policy (the "Policy") describes how the Quantitative User Experience Association (the "Association") collects, uses, and discloses your personal information. The Quantitative User Experience Association is an IRS 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit association in the United States. Quant UX Con is an event organized by the Association to further its educational mission. "Classes" are training events organized by the Association.


Briefly: the Association attempts to minimize data collection and retention; uses third party providers with strong practices and clear policies; anonymizes data when possible; and discloses our purposes and usage, such as when we collect survey data.

It may also include responses to surveys that we invite you to take.

We only disclose your personal information to accomplish purposes of the Association. Apart from our publications, we disclose personal information only to third parties that agree to keep it confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it. The Association provides services in multiple countries, and may share your information with third parties in those countries as needed for the purposes above. The primary locations of Quant UX Association third party service providers are the United Kingdom (RingCentral Events, for event hosting; and Oxford Abstracts for proposal submissions) and the United States (RingCentral Events for event hosting, Stripe for payment processing, TicketStripe for class enrollment, PayPal for donations, and Google Workspace for general administrative documents and web hosting).

Survey Data 

To demonstrate and support expertise in data analytic methods, the Association publicly shares anonymized data from many of its surveys (example). Each survey includes a disclosure about the intended public sharing. Personal identifiers are excluded from shared data. When a survey includes open-end text fields, the text is optional, and any submitted data may be shared. Open data sharing is intended to enhance transparency, build community expertise, and provide example data sets in the support of the Association's mission.

Quant UX Con Profiles

The Quant UX Con conference is hosted on RingCentral Events. During the conference, you may choose to provide attendee information such as a name or alias, or other profile information (optional). This information will be displayed to other attendees during the conference, such as when you speak or ask questions. That information is collected and displayed in accordance with RingCentral Events policies and features. You may use an abbreviated, anonymous, or disguised profile at any time. The Association does not share identifiable data about attendees from the RingCentral Events platform.


Security

We take steps to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, including data access controls and an Association-specific Google Workspace domain. The Association uses standard security measures including encryption of submitted data in transit to protect personal information.


Changes to This Policy

We update this Policy as needed. The most recent version is always available at quantuxa.org
